President George W. Bush skipped Vermont. Bill Clinton took a second-term hiatus from journeying to the Green Mountain State, though his 1995 excursion drew throngs to Church Street in Burlington.
The state’s wait for a presidential visit is about to come to an end. President Barack Obama is on his way.
Obama, seeking a second term, will be in Burlington on March 30 “to participate in campaign events,” the White House confirmed to the Burlington Free Press on Monday afternoon — and the news delighted people of divergent political perspectives.
